The quest for an invisibility cloak has taken another step toward practical reality with a battery-powered version. The design, from researchers at the University of Texas in Austin, renders objects undetectable by radio sensors across a range of frequencies. "I believe that our design helps us understand the fundamental challenges of suppressing the scattering of various objects at multiple wavelengths and shows a realistic path to overcome them," said researcher Andrea Alu.
