Communities in Ohio's Chagrin Valley soon are merging dispatch services for police, fire and EMS to reduce response times and increase staffing on certain shifts. The new facility will house upgraded technology that makes it easier for dispatchers to track the location of callers and approaching first responders. The consolidation also means two dispatchers will be available for each 12-hour shift, whereas previously only one dispatcher worked the overnight shift.
