The roofing business is booming in Illinois and neighboring states after a surge of wintry weather led to snow buildup on roofs, creating ice dams and causing leaks. Ross Baine with Baine Roofing in Carbondale, Ill., said crews are either busy removing snow and applying ice melt on roofs or they are working to address leaks. The company is working on five to 10 roofing jobs a day because of the weather.
