Officials with Columbia Public Schools in Missouri and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources have joined together to propose a new public school, where 100 of the district's fifth-graders would learn core subjects via nature-based lessons. "You're going to go out in the field and learn science, but then you'll read and write about that science, you'll do math about that science and learn the history of the science," said Mike Szydlowski, district science coordinator.
