Cummins and Siemens are teaming for a new power system for electric-diesel locomotives in passenger-rail service. The lightweight Cummins QSK95 engine displaces 95 liters and generates more than 4,000 horsepower, allowing operation up to 125 mph while producing cleaner exhaust with an after-treatment system designed to meet the EPA Tier 4 standard for ultra-low emissions, according to this article.
