Oregon universities are seeing more students enrolling in engineering and computer science classes. Oregon State University experienced 30% growth in its electrical engineering and computer science programs during the past two years. Such growth comes at a time when technology companies in the area are calling for colleges to turn out more skilled workers. "There's a lot of communication going on between industry and the universities to a degree I haven't seen in the past," said Skip Newberry, director of the Technology Association of Oregon.
