Some Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee expressed concerns about a patent bill Tuesday. "I'm wary of unintended consequences," said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., defended his bill, saying that some software patents need additional review to determine whether they are worthy of patenting. "The only people who are afraid of this know their patents aren't valid," Schumer said. Separately, so-called "patent troll" Intellectual Ventures listed the majority of its patents on its website this week.
