The Minnesota Department of Transportation will receive $18 billion in the next two decades to rebuild and repave its roads, but that amount is far less than the $30 billion it needs "to keep pace with Minnesota’s ­growing population and aging infrastructure." Without additional funds, road conditions during that time are expected to deteriorate 13%, and the structural soundness of more than 200 bridges will decline, according to a report by the Transportation Finance Advisory Committee.
