The nuclear medicine market is slowing down, due to slight declines in patient studies and the number of sites performing nuclear medicine research, according to a report released by IMV Medical Information Division. Nuclear medicine patient studies decreased by about 9% in 2012 compared with 2008, due to factors such as pre-certification requirements and reduced reimbursement from Medicare. The report also says physicians are considering strategic actions including changing their practice models and partnering with hospitals.
