The Tahlequah Municipal Airport in Oklahoma is in the process of redesigning its taxiway and improving its navigation lights, among other upgrades. According to airport manager Greg Blish, the improvements will allow planes to land in less-than-ideal conditions. "Sometimes, when the weather is bad, aircraft based at Tahlequah or scheduled to use the airport must bypass it and go to Tulsa. This project enhances the facility’s safety and efficiency," Blish said.
