Between 2005 and 2011, the number of individuals younger than 21 who had emergency department visits related to ecstasy rose 128%, from about 4,500 to more than 10,000 visits, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration said. The report also found about one-third of the ecstasy-related ED visits also involved alcohol use.
