Some third-graders in a school in New York recently learned math concepts, such as counting and measuring, during Cranberry Day. The event included eight interactive stations that offered a range of learning activities, including estimating the amount of cranberries in a container and measuring how high they would bounce. "Students used scientific inquiry skills such as observation, predicting outcomes and organizing data as well as mathematical skills like estimating and measuring to complete these hands-on tasks," teacher Liz Held said.
