Exercise may not affect holiday weight gain, Texas Tech University researchers reported in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Their study, which included 48 men and 100 women who were followed from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day, found people gained an average of 1.5 pounds, and while exercise did not appear to prevent weight gain, those who did exercise tended to have lower blood pressure levels.
