Blacks are more likely to have high blood pressure levels and to have uncontrolled high blood pressure than whites, a U.S. study showed. Using data on 70,000 people in 12 southeastern states, researchers found that black women had the highest rate of high blood pressure at 64%, compared with 52% in white women and 51% in both black men and white men. The findings appear in the journal Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes.
