The New York State Thruway Authority has released details about the construction timeline for the $3.9 billion Tappan Zee Bridge project. Completion of what will become the world's widest cable-stayed bridge is scheduled for April 2018. Because the project is the country's biggest transportation endeavor, the state is "becoming a national model for how a project like this can be planned and managed effectively using private sector knowledge and public sector transparency," said Thruway Authority Chairman Howard Milstein.
