Westport Winery crafts 33 wines, tying some proceeds of each to a different charity. Attaching bottles to charities such as local chapters of the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross allows the winery to give back when giving away free bottles would be too damaging to its bottom line. "There's a limit to how much you can give and still operate. That's the hard reality," said co-owner Kim Roberts. Since the winery opened in 2008, it has donated over $235,000.
