University leaders can't cut programs and services as a strategy for survival, Amit Mrig suggests. Instead, institutions must focus on what makes them unique in the marketplace and play to those strengths, he advises. "To set their campuses apart in an increasingly crowded marketplace, institutions need to make active investments in new and existing programs, not just cut under-performing programs," Mrig writes.
