Four teachers, each named teachers of the year in their states, have been chosen as finalists for the 2014 National Teacher of the Year Award. Finalists include Dorina Sackman, an eighth-grade teacher in Florida; Sean McComb, an educator who also serves as staff-development teacher at a Maryland school; Ryan Devlin, a high-school English and technology teacher in Pennsylvania; and Melissa Ann Porfirio, a first-grade teacher in Virginia. The winner will be announced in April by the Council of Chief State School Officers.
