Hotels in cities that host large conventions and other big events must be able to manage the logistics of these large-scale events. Guests also may have different expectations when they know they're paying higher-than-normal prices, presenting more challenges. "Most hoteliers understand these are VIP-type visitors, or they’re fans on once-in-a-lifetime trips, so they need to go out of their way to deliver superior service," said Donna Quadri-Felitti, clinical associate professor of hospitality and tourism management at the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management at New York University.
