College and university presidents meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House today are promising to increase enrollment of low-income students and boost graduation rates for those students. The schools also will step up their recruitment of low-income students while they are still in high school. "At a minimum, the White House is using its convening power to get people talking about this topic," Debora Spar, president of Barnard College, said.
