After spearheading a public hearing on the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed cuts to the 2014 Renewable Fuel Standard targets, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad told members of an economic-development board that he was "a little more encouraged" that the agency will toss out the proposal. "It looked like an uphill battle when they came out with the proposed rule," Branstad said. Meanwhile, Reps. Dave Loebsack and Bruce Braley, both D-Iowa, are among seven U.S. House members who have asked President Barack Obama to meet with them regarding the proposal.
