NCA and the European Cocoa Association will release their grindings data for the fourth quarter of 2013 this week. Some experts predict that if the data exceeds expectations, prices could climb as much as 15%, and they estimate North American grindings to come in 4% to 8% higher and European grindings to be 3% to 5% higher than last year. A global shortfall of cocoa beans is expected, and "any rise in the grind will drive a fresh pricing rally," said Edward George of Ecobank.
