Having access to guns was associated with a threefold increased risk of suicide and a nearly twofold greater likelihood of being a homicide victim, according to a review of 15 gun-related studies. When guns were accessible, men were four times more likely to take their own lives, while women were nearly three times more likely to be victims of homicide. The findings appear in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
