Programs such as Innovation Campus at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a chamber of commerce intern program are among the efforts underway by college and business leaders to keep students in the state after they graduate. U.S. Census Bureau data show the state lost a net of nearly 8,000 college graduates who took jobs in other states in a recent two-year span. "Nebraska is in competition with other states, so we have to work harder and smarter to keep up," said university Chancellor Harvey Perlman.
