Some schools in New Zealand have adopted bring-your-own-device programmes -- allowing students to use their personal tablets, smartphones and other devices in the classroom. Some schools say they also are providing technology for students who do not own devices. "They will definitely be used as a means by which students will gain a deeper understanding, though it won't replace the traditional way of doing other things," Nelson College for Girls principal Cathy Ewing said.
