Kristi Dunks said she was probably inspired to become a pilot by the movie "Top Gun." While studying aviation operations in college, she learned about the National Transportation Safety Board's work and decided she had to become an investigator. She is currently working in the Office of Aviation Safety in Washington, D.C., managing the NTSB's safety improvements program. "I work with investigators on resolving safety issues identified through investigations, track safety recommendations and conduct outreach," she said.
