Seventh- and eighth-grade students in 123 schools in the United Arab Emirates are participating in the Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Programme -- an initiative expected to be implemented in all government schools by 2017. Under the programme, students and teachers are equipped with Samsung tablets and interactive whiteboards are installed in classrooms. Besides other programmes, teachers and students have access to a social-learning "gateway," called Study Live, where they can communicate.
