Unmanned aircraft are the object of research by scientists and engineers working in Texas to learn which civilian tasks these devices may undertake in the future. "There's so many needs for these things today – the forest fires, hurricanes," said John Hugeley, mission commander for several drone test flights conducted last week by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Said Futurist.com founder Glen Hiemstra, "The technology is already here. So the next question is, 'Is it economically viable?'"
