The use of roller-compacted concrete for a new multi-purpose pathway in Yuma, Ariz., is receiving positive feedback because of its efficient, economical and sustainable features, according to Cemex USA, the project's contractor. Aside from the pathway, the product has been used for Yuma Truck Driving School's training pad. "The school asked for a bid and the design called for asphalt," David J. Shiplet, CEMEX USA district manager in western Arizona. "We suggested a more suitable product, especially for the starting and stopping of trucks, and showed them a test while training our Yuma crew. The school liked the product."
