Older men who spent five or more nonwork hours sitting daily had a higher risk of developing heart failure than men who sat for a shorter period of time, a Kaiser Permanente study found. Five hours of sitting was associated with a 34% greater risk than two hours or less of sitting, and men who were the least physically active had a 52% greater likelihood of developing the condition than their most active peers, researchers reported in the journal Circulation: Heart Failure.
