Nuclear Power Corp. of India officials are still unsure when they can begin operations at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant 2 reactor. R.K. Sinha, chairman of India's Atomic Energy Commission, said Thursday that the unit would start production by June, but a company official said it might not be possible to have testing and approvals completed by then. "As of now, we are concentrating on unit 1," which is producing 430 megawatts and may soon be ramped up closer to its 1,000 MW capacity, the official said.
