Israeli startup KitLocate offers a software development platform that combines GPS, Bluetooth and accelerometer data from a smartphone with usage patterns to create a user profile that can be used to improve battery life. The user profile provides insight into what the user might do next, allowing applications to modify its use of the GPS chip. "It all depends on the context," CEO Omri Moran says. "Sometimes you need to poll more, but if you don't need to, KitLocate will make sure you don't, so you save battery power."
