Research from Catalyst suggests that minority women may be less likely to receive promotions and more likely to lower their ambitions in response to workplace biases. The problem is that younger women often fail to receive the type of sponsorship they need to get ahead, writes Jennifer Thorpe-Moscon, a researcher at Catalyst. Companies can start to build more diverse leadership teams by helping managers act as inclusive leaders and by making sure talent is evaluated fairly, she writes.
