A veteran high-school history teacher in San Diego has created a minimuseum with his students, in which he displays a portion of his 40,000-piece collection of presidential memorabilia. Teacher Jim Fletcher said the pieces help excite students about history and use the memorabilia for research. "With high school students who are bombarded by distractions, history needs to come to the table hot and preferably in flames," said Fletcher, who plans to make more of the collection available to elementary and middle schools.
