Confectionery retailer Thorntons reported a second quarter sales increase of 6.3% to £93.1 million, which includes Christmas. The company overhauled its brand last year and reported a FMCG sales growth of 17.1% with commercial sales in the U.K. up by 21.1%, but international FMCG sales declined 15.5% while retail sales dropped 2.9%. "Our performance over this important period demonstrates continued good progress in the transformation of our business," said CEO Jonathan Hart.
