Taking vitamin D supplements with or without calcium was not linked to a significantly lower risk of heart disease, heart attack, stroke, cerebrovascular disease, cancer or total fracture, University of Auckland researchers found. The review, based on 40 studies on vitamin D supplementation, was published in the journal The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology.
