The Muse, which launched in 2011, has recently brought in $1 million in seed investment to support its mission of helping people advance their careers through free classes and developing personal connections. Among other things, the company plans to use the money to expand its offerings and its sales efforts. "We've had to put some of our most ambitious ideas on ice until we have the team and the capital to address them," said Kathryn Minshew, one of the company's co-founders. "This will definitely get us close."
