Advertising that runs on mobile devices is much more effective than that on PCs, particularly when it targets affluent users, according to a BBC World News study. The research noted that affluent consumers are nearly twice as active on mobile as the less affluent, with nearly 4 in 10 accessing the Web through their devices at least hourly. Advertising directly targeting the affluent was found to be about four times as effective as ads on PCs.
