The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority fined the Iowa-based brokerage Berthel Fisher & Company Financial Services $775,000 for failing to supervise the sale of interests in nontraded REITs, business development companies, and a variety of alternative investments from 2008 and 2012. Because of the failure to provide supervision, brokers sold unsuitable investments to clients, FINRA said.
