Lifetime, following its decision to woo bigger stars and major directors for its signature TV movies, saw its audience increase 13% in January, compared with the same period in 2013. The network's recent successes include "Flowers in the Attic," co-starring Oscar-winner Ellen Burstyn, and "Lizzie Borden Took an Ax," with Christina Ricci in the title role. "Major studios aren't making a lot of the kind of movies that we're making now," said Robert Sharenow, Lifetime's executive vice president and general manager. "I think it's opened a real door for us into the feature film talent pool."
