Members of Generation X, Americans born between 1962 and 1981, have seen their retirement savings fall 15% over the past two years and are less confident about retirement, according to research from the Insured Retirement Institute. The number of GenXers worried about having enough money after they retire rose from 20% in 2012 to 42% today. "It appears the lasting effects of the recession and prolonged labor market woes are taking a hit to GenXers' confidence and their savings," said Cathy Weatherford, IRI president and CEO.
