A freight center has been suggested as a way for Detroit to make a comeback. The proposal would involve converting Coleman A. Young Municipal Airport and its surrounding area into a logistics hub. Rodney Lockwood Jr., chairman and CEO of Lockwood Cos., visualizes the area as a "multimodal freight center" that would have the advantage of being close to rail and shipping facilities.
