Private-label retailers such as ALDI and Trader Joe's and private-label products such as cheese, ready meals, sushi and deli items are experiencing growth, but the majority of private-label packaged foods have seen flat growth since 2009, according to James Richardson, senior vice president at Hartman Strategy. Private-label products including canned tomatoes, canned fruits and frozen potatoes are not experiencing the growth of other categories, Richardson said.
