Parents of students in a school district in Texas are going back to class to learn how to help their children master core subjects. The district's inaugural Parent University provided parents with strategies to encourage reading, help students understand math concepts and help children prepare for college. "We know we can't do this work alone in our school system," Superintendent Marcelo Cavazos said. "We need our parents to be engaged in that process."
