The ailing roofs at the middle school and high school of the Lower Dauphin School District in Hummelstown, Pa., will be addressed after the school board agreed to spend more than $2.2 million. The 20-year-old roof at the middle school would be replaced for $1 million, and the 18-year-old roof at the high school would be restored for $928,000, about one-third the cost of replacing it. The costs include about $156,500 for long-term warranties on the roofing work.
