The prevalence of an antibiotic-resistant bacteria called Enterobacteriaceae in children increased from 0.28% in 1999 to 0.92% in 2011, according to a study in the Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society. The bacteria was detected in children of all ages, particularly among 1- to 5-year-olds.
