Nearly 1 million Australians eat mints every month that they didn't buy. Data from Roy Morgan Research found that 3.6 million Australians over the age of 14 ate mints in an average four-week period, but only 2.7 million indicated that they had purchased mints in the same period and another 180,000 bought mints but didn't eat any, bringing the total mint-buying population to only 2.9 million. Eclipse Mints accounted for 40% of the buyers last year, with Mentos accounting for 21% and Tic Tac 19%.
