Boutique hotels are becoming a growing trend in Las Vegas as more travelers visit the city for its shopping destinations. The Las Vegas strip recently got its first stand-alone boutique hotel, The Cromwell, which will open to guests on May 21. "Vegas has the tendency to do things on a grand scale and this is an opportunity for us to stay away from that and do something smaller, more intimate," says Karie Hall, vice president and general manager of The Cromwell. "We know who you are before you come in. It's so much harder to do that when you have 4,000 rooms."
