Low-income children in Colorado who were previously or newly enrolled in Medicaid or Child Health Plan Plus will continue to receive coverage for at least a year, regardless of changes in family income or household size, the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing said Tuesday. The extended coverage, which was approved by the CMS, "will foster continuity of care, provide consistent access to preventive services and shift towards greater use of primary care medical homes," said Susan E. Birch, the department's executive director.
