National Health IT Coordinator Dr. Karen DeSalvo announced Thursday that the government has released about $24 billion in incentives to bolster EHR adoption. However, DeSalvo noted persistent gaps in gathering medical data, including from non-eligible providers. "There is still some thinking that we need to do about how we're going to help advance the capture of standardized information for patients in nursing homes, rehab and behavioral health systems," DeSalvo said.
